THE T2T EXCHANGE ↻
Exchange Rules
Version: 30 August 2026
1. What the Exchange is
The T2T Exchange is a community reuse and discovery service. It is not a marketplace. Items in Free & Rehome must be offered free of charge. Buying, selling, auctions, paid swaps, commercial advertising and trader listings are not permitted.
2. Accounts
The Exchange is intended for people aged 18 or over at launch. Use one genuine account and keep your login secure. Your username is your public identity. Do not impersonate another person or business.
3. Privacy and collection
Do not publish exact home addresses, private phone numbers, another person's personal information or other sensitive collection details in public posts. Use only a general area publicly.
4. What you may post
Only offer an item if you own it or have clear permission to rehome it. Describe items honestly. Wanted posts must be genuine. Finds & Stories is for discoveries, restorations, inherited objects, identification questions and related community discussion.
5. Prohibited content and items
Do not post, request, offer or use the Exchange to arrange the transfer of anything illegal, unsafe or unsuitable for a free community rehoming service. This includes firearms, ammunition, weapons, knives or bladed items; explosives or fireworks; alcohol; nicotine, tobacco or vapes; illegal or recreational drugs; prescription or restricted medicines; pornography or adult/sexual products; live animals; stolen goods; counterfeit goods or goods that infringe intellectual-property rights; dangerous chemicals, poisons or hazardous substances; recalled products; products known or reasonably suspected to be unsafe; scams or fraudulent offers; and content involving hate, threats, harassment, exploitation or abuse.
Items subject to legal restrictions, licensing, age restrictions or regulated transfer are not permitted unless T2T expressly states otherwise. T2T may refuse or remove other categories where safety, law or the nature of the Exchange requires it.
6. Moderation and illegal content
Posts, images, messages and accounts may be checked, held, refused, restricted or removed. T2T may use automated checks and human moderation. Where T2T becomes aware of content it reasonably considers illegal, unsafe or contrary to these rules, it may act promptly to restrict or remove it, preserve appropriate records, restrict or suspend an account and make reports to the appropriate authority where the law requires or permits this.
T2T applies these rules proportionately and may take account of the seriousness of the issue, repeated behaviour, immediate safety risk and relevant legal obligations.
7. Keep posts current
Members should mark Rehome posts Available, Reserved or Rehomed and Wanted posts Wanted or Found. Remove or close posts that are no longer current.
8. Member listings, safety and collection
Unless a listing clearly says otherwise, T2T provides the Exchange service but is not the owner, seller, donor, recipient or party to arrangements made between members. T2T does not routinely inspect, test, certify or guarantee member-listed items or supervise collection arrangements.
Members are responsible for describing items honestly and deciding whether an item and collection arrangement are suitable and safe. Check condition, instructions, modifications and relevant product recalls before reusing safety-sensitive, electrical, mechanical, children's or other potentially hazardous goods. Never feel obliged to disclose more personal information than necessary.
9. Reports and complaints
Members can use the in-service report facility to report a post, image, message, account or behaviour that may be illegal, unsafe or contrary to these rules. Anyone who cannot use the in-service report facility may email exchange@thistothatclearance.com with the subject “T2T Exchange Safety Report”. Please include enough information for us to locate and assess the issue, but do not send unnecessary sensitive information.
If you believe T2T has wrongly removed or restricted your content or account, or has not dealt appropriately with a safety report, you may complain by emailing exchange@thistothatclearance.com with the subject “T2T Exchange Complaint”. T2T will review the complaint and may uphold, reverse or amend the original decision.
10. T2T Support messages
T2T may contact you privately through T2T Support about your account, an Exchange post, moderation, safety, security or another service issue. Only T2T can start a T2T Support conversation. You can reply within that private thread. T2T may mark a conversation resolved when the issue has been dealt with and may retain the thread where reasonably necessary for support, moderation, disputes, safety or legal compliance.
11. Children and age
The Exchange is an 18+ service. Members must not create an account or use member posting or messaging features if they are under 18. T2T may take proportionate steps to enforce this restriction and may close an account where it reasonably believes the age requirement has not been met.
12. Scams and payments
Free & Rehome means free. Never send money, deposits, gift cards, bank transfers, cryptocurrency, courier fees or delivery payments to obtain a member-listed free item through the Exchange. Do not follow payment links sent by another member. Report requests for money or suspicious behaviour immediately.
13. Online safety
T2T maintains proportionate online-safety processes for the Exchange, including risk assessment, moderation, reporting, complaints and record keeping. These rules may be updated where the service changes or where law, regulatory guidance or identified risks require it.
